The We Are Makers Grant Fund

We have committed 11% of our total magazine subscription revenue to supporting makers with cash grants to support their business.

The Goal?
To offer a minimum of four grants per year (one per quarter) to help makers fund their next tool, a photoshoot, travel, or anything else they feel will move their craft business forward.

How will It Work?
11% of all magazine subscriptions go directly to the grant fund—not profits, not after expenses—right off the top.
We must hit 2,500 subscribers for this to become a reality (currently approaching 400 subs, we will keep this updated)

There will also be "mini grants" along the way.
1 grant at 500 subs 
2 grants at 1000 subs
3 grants at 1500 subs 
and 4 grants at 2000 subs

Who Is eligible for the grant fund?

Makers from anywhere in the world. so long as they are practising their craft full time or aspiring to go full time.

How much will the grant fund be?

As the subscribers grow so does the grant fund. 11% of our initial goal of 2500 subscribers is just under £4000 GBP (A little over $5000, and almost a whopping $8000 AUD)

How will you choose?

Kate and I will go through every application in great detail narrowing them down to the applicant we think this grant could have the greatest effect on.

We will then bring in a small jury of other makers, craftspeople, and artists to go through the applications with us and decide on our winning recipients.

How many grants are you offering?

We are offering 10 mini grants on the way to our 2500 subscriber goal and then 1 large grant every quarter from our 2500 subscriber goal onward.

This larger grant will be awarded to one or a number of makers as the grant fund pot grows along with our subscribers.
